Delta Engineering and Inspection, Inc. – Inspector and Project Manager (3.2 years). Responsible for commercial building inspections, leading forensic investigation team and assisting with construction defect litigation support.
Inspection Training and Education Consultants – Instructor/Building Code Consultant (6.5 years). Provided construction training and developed curriculum for several Atlanta-based trade associations including the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors and Birch Academy (an International Code Council (ICC) Approved Education Provider). ITEC educated more than 1500 homebuilders, and municipal, county and private sector inspectors in application of the International Residential Code of other I-codes.
Owner and Lead Inspector at Sherlock Home Inspections of Sarasota, Inc (4 years). Performed more than 1,400 home inspections.

Successful completion of the six-hour, 120 question ICC One and Two-family Dwelling Inspector examination, November 2000. This certification by the ICC is widely accepted by governmental authorities (including Florida) as a prerequisite for employment as Residential Building Inspector.

Instructor for Continuing and Professional Education course entitled “Designing and Evaluating Residential Walls with Large Openings” at Virginia Polytechnic University. Co-Instructor and developer of this 16-hour course on the complexities of structural wall bracing.
Honored with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s (GAHBA) Appreciation Award for participation and technical expertise while serving on the “Homeowner’s Handbook” Advisory Board. This handbook of construction warranty standards is widely used by homebuilders for establishing home warranty guidelines.
Recipient of Tim Birch Award (2006) “in appreciation for outstanding service and dedication to inspection education”. This award is given annually by the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors.
Served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Certified Professional Home Builders, an affiliate program within the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Housing Institute.

Volunteered as relief-construction worker after hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, eventually working with six relief missions. There is great satisfaction in helping others in need.
